The Story of fishermen in Mexico
A ship anchored in Mexico, near a tiny fishing village. A tourist, he complimented the fisherman on the quality of products and asked them how long it takes to catch those fish.
„Not very long,” fishermen responded in unison.
„But why not have stayed, to catch more fish?”
Fishermen have said that they catch small quantities which are sufficient for their needs and their families.
„Well, and what are you doing the rest of the time?” asked the tourist.
„We sleep late, fish a little, play with children and make our siesta with our wives. Later in the evening, go to the village, where we meet friends, drink a little, sing a few songs on guitar and so on … We have a life. ”
Tourist has said, „Wait a minute! I graduated from Harvard, I have a business degree and I can help you! You must fished longer each day. That way, you can sell the fish you catch more. With the additional income, you can buy a bigger boat. ”
„And after that?” asked fishermen.
„With the extra money, you can buy a second and a third boat and so on, until you have an entire fleet of trawlers (fishing boats). Instead of selling fish to a middleman, you can negotiate directly with large processing plants or you can even build your own factory. Then you can leave this tiny little village and move to Mexico City, Los Angeles, or even in New York! From there you can lead the new company will prosper. ”
„And how long it would take that?” asked fishermen. „Twenty, perhaps twenty-five years,” replied the tourist.
„And after that?”
„After that? Well, my friend, that’s when it becomes really interesting, ” said tourist smiling widely. „When your business is really huge, you can start to sell and buy assets and make millions!”
„Millions? Seriously? And after that? „asked fishermen.
„After that, you will be able to retire from business, to live a quiet and secluded village on the beach, sleep late, play with your children to do siesta with wives and spend evenings with friends enjoying yourself as you want. ”
„With all due respect, sir, but that’s exactly what we do now. What would be the point to waste twenty-five years? „asked Mexicans …
“Dupa asta? Ei bine, prietene, asta-i momentul cand devine cu adevarat interesant”, a raspuns zambind larg turistul.
